The Two Rivers Area, aka "The Peninsula"

Surrounded by the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, which serve as nature's bookends and boundaries, the Peninsula is both a nautical and recreational haven for its residents.  The Two Rivers Area, the jewel of the Jersey Shore, is made up of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Red Bank.  The towns are described below and each offer its own unique flavor and flair.

RUMSON is home to just over 7,000 grateful inhabitants. Being only a stone's throw away from the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and close proximity to NYC, this shore community is a desirable place to call home.  The highly ranked public and private schools offer parents and students a variety of excellent educational choices.  While Rumson admittedly is distinguished by its beautiful and stately residences, riverbank properties, cultivated lawns, hedge rows and speciman trees; buyers are also treated to a surprisingly wide range of housing styles and price range options. The summer is a special time for families and friends in Rumson to reconnect at the area's public and private beach clubs.  Each beach club is unique and there is something for everyone! The clubs offer a variety of social events such as camping, movies on the beach, activities such as tennis, swim team and swim lessons, accomodations that range from private cabanas to small lockers and a range of membership fees that vary from club to club.  The Rumson Country Club, member-owned and family oriented, offers many activities such as golf, paddle, boating at the marina, and a summer camp program for children.

RED BANK is our diverse urban cultural mecca of 1.75 square miles, with just under 12,000 residents. It was voted by New Jersey Monthly Magazine as the "Hippest" town in NJ.  People who work, visit, and live in Red Bank, come to enjoy the variety of restaurants, shops, attend concerts at the Count Basie Theatre, antiquing, see plays at the Two River Theatre or listen to live music at one of the nightclubs.  Red Bank is also home to Riverview Medical Center, a train station, two hotels, several marinas, a sailing club and numerous parks.  Events such as street fairs, sidewalk sales, the annual Oysterfest, Riverfest, outdoor jazz concerts and movies in the park, offer fun for people of all ages and interests.  Red Bank has a wide variety of residences, from apartments to condos to riverfront homes that satisfy all price ranges and lifestyles.

LITTLE SILVER is a well-loved, tight-knit, community situated along the Shrewsbury River and home to 6,000 residents.  There is a bustling downtown, trains to NYC, as well as the popular Sickles Market, which was established in 1908 and a favorite destination for the best produce, plants, gourmet food and gifts.  Little Silver's schools are highly regarded and have a very active parent community and PTO. Students attend the Red Bank Regional High School, along with kids from the towns of Red Bank and Shrewsbury.  This excellent school provides a wide array of academic offerings, as well as three unique academies of study; the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, Academy of Information Technology and Academy of Finance as well as a Pre-Engineering and a CISCO Certification program.

FAIR HAVEN is a special town and is often referred to as "Mayberry" by its residents.  With just over 1.5 square miles, Fair Haven is another small, close-knit community of 6,100 residents.  The quaint downtown is sprinkled with charming boutiques and restaurants that contribute to the small-town feel.  Beautifully situated on the banks of the Navesink River allows residents to engage in fishing, boating or just enjoying the gorgeous vistas and nightly sunsets.   Like Rumson, Fair Haven shares top ranked schools and a connection to the beach/beach clubs that make up the fabric of the community.  In the good weather you will often see hundreds of bikes parked by the schools and children walking to and from home or downtown for lunch.   The River Rats, also known as the Fair Haven Sailing Club, is an educational non-profit organization dedicated to individual sailing, training and family fun.  The Shrewsbury River Yacht Club is a private association that also provides boating and social facilities for the enjoyment of the members and their families.

The Beach Towns

SEA BRIGHT is a popular beach destination and residential community containing both primary and vacation homes.  Blessed with beautiful sandy beaches and bordered on the west by the Shrewsbury River, Sea Bright is a water-lover's paradise and prime vacation spot because of its easy access to NYC.  The residents are widely known for their community spirit and resilient nature when they came together to rebuild their town after Superstorm Sandy.  Sea Bright is home to great restaurants, shops, seven private beach clubs and a public beach.

MONMOUTH BEACH is a small coastal beach town known for its large victorian houses, excellent school and upscale living.  Residents are year-round, weekend and seasonal; with most homes within walking distance to the beach.  What makes Monmouth Beach particularly attractive to NYC residents is the ability to commute to work and return to the their "beach house" in the evening via the fast ferry in under an hour each way.  The small, quaint downtown is the hub of the community, along with the public Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavillion beach club and private Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club.  Monmouth Beach residents have the unique priviledge of being able to drive golf carts on the road and the school offers small classes and an involved parent community.  With the Shrewsbury River on the western border, there are many marinas and waterfront homes, so its no wonder that many boaters call Monmouth Beach home. Although the town is made up of mostly single family homes, there area also several condo communities and three condominium high-rise buildings that overlook the water and offer luxurious amenities.
