Atlantic Highlands, NJ

 

The lovely New Jersey town of Atlantic Highlands is a unique community located along Sandy Hook bay in Monmouth County and has the distinction of being the highest point along the Eastern Seaboard south of Maine. This little town is great to live in, whether you’re just starting out or want to live away from a densely urban area.

While strolling through the downtown, you’ll find many stores and restaurants. Start your morning with a fresh cup of coffee from Fair Mountain Coffee. Catch a film at the Atlantic Cinemas. Watch a  play or event at the First Avenue Playhouse Dessert Theatre. 

 

In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Gaslight, an American-style restaurant and bar. Dive into some signature Southwestern crab cakes and steaks at Copper Canyon or grab a locally made beer at the taproom in the Carton Brewing Company.

Venture off and have an adventure as you travel to the Mount Mitchell Scenic Overlook. Get some exercise or look at the water and nature and walk the Henry Hudson Trail or take a hike in Hartshorne Woods.  

 

In July, Atlantic Highlands hosts the FilmOneFest film festival and the annual Fireman’s Fair, a family-style carnival with attractions, games, fireworks and food.
